Prescott Forest and Dells, AZ, April 29, 2013

We broke up the drive from Havasu NWR, AZ to Sevilleta NWR, NM by stopping to explore the Sedona/Flagstaff area. That brought us to the Prescott Forest and a drive through the mountains just south of Sedona. We also hiked through the Prescott Granite Dells. This was the same day that we drove through the  Mojave Desert in the morning and found all of the colorful cactus blooms. The thermometer in our car was 105 degrees while we were in the desert and plummeted to 55 degrees as we pulled into the hotel lot in Flagstaff that same night. The temps in the mountains and on our hike were in the 70s. Arizona is state that offers a lot of diversity in the landscape from north to south and is full of nice surprises.
